Slang

Having worked for some time now in Britain, I still get amazed of the richness of the language. Last week I received an e-mail from a colleague telling me he wanted "to have a butcher at it!"

What the hell did he want? I was surely not discussing about meat or cooking. It only took me minutes before my helpful colleagues introduced me to the Cockney Rhyming Slang.

It's all about Rhyming your way around. So where did the butcher came from? Butchers - Butchers Hook - Hook - Look. So what he meant was, lets have a look!

And guess what! There is plenty more!

e.g. Bees (Bees and Honey)? - Money!
or "Aw me Jelly's vibrating" (Jelly Bone) - Phone

can you guess these?
"Pick up the Dog "?
"Beg your Osama" ?
"What's wrong wiv yer Britney's luv"

Let me know!
